There are many different types of camper trailers in Melbourne and other centres and all are ideal for camping; whether you go off road or stick to caravan parks there is sure to be a model of camper trailer to suit.
With tent camper trailers there is no worry about not getting a site at the caravan park in time for the holidays if you forgot to book. Camper trailer sites are usually plentiful – and besides with your own camper trailer bobbing along behind your vehicle you can find any inlay or side road and camp there for the night if the caravan park is full.
All you need to do when you get to your camping spot is to put up your canvas and there is your bed waiting. Of course some of the more expensive camper trailers have fold-out tables complete with kitchen sink and barbeque and refrigerator facilities, which makes camping in the wild very easy.
However, you may have to take your own fuel along if you go camping in a National Park as chopping up timber there is prohibited.
Some camper trailers have a hard top and sides rather than a tent top. These look almost like miniature caravans and may provide better protection in rough weather. They would be heavier to tow than a soft top. Some camper trailers come with racks so that you can also affix your tinny – small rowing boat – to a camper trailer if fishing in the river is what you love to do. You can also use it to hold other water sports gear such as surf board, surf skis or even a solar panel for your power needs.
If you intend to go off road with your 4WD and find a wilderness region to camp in, then you will need an off road camper trailer. An off road camper trailer is made with a stronger frame and better suspension to cope with the rough terrain. This will ensure that no break-downs will spoil your holiday.
